After learning about Henry Ford's assembly line, students got a hands-on look at how the process worked by creating paper airplanes. Working together, they experienced the efficiency, teamwork, and organization that made assembly lines so revolutionary. ✈️

Today, we welcomed 27 West Central FCCLA students to Humboldt Elementary as part of their Teens as Teachers program! These high school students spent time in our 4th-grade classrooms teaching lessons focused on character development, nutrition, and wellness. What a great way to celebrate National Be a Teacher Day and inspire future educators! 🍎💙
West Central's Educators Rising Chapter events are well under way this fall!
Educators Rising is a career-focused program that helps middle and high school students explore teaching and other education careers before they enter college. Students get hands-on experience in real classrooms, connect with current teachers and colleges, attend Learning Expos and conferences, develop leadership skills, and participate in competitions related to teaching. The overall goal is to create a “grow your own” pathway—encouraging South Dakota students to become educators and, ideally, return to teach in their own communities.

Student of the Month: 7th grade honored some awesome students in the month of September! These students go above and beyond to show they value their learning and take pride in their work. They are active participants in class and are sure to turn in work with high-quality effort!
GRIT: These students are honored for persevering and taking on challenges within the classrooms. Each classroom teacher selects a student they believe ‘showed up’ in class this month as leaders. These students push through even when things get tough and they put forth their best effort! They are great examples for their peers! We appreciate their hard work and willingness to show resilience and self-motivation!
